Travis Harrison has been the glue that has held his family together, through the early days when his father’s insanity destroyed them, to more recently when Mia’s past caught up with her. But for the last four years he has felt himself come unglued and the reason for this…Ally Caldwell, his Assistant.
Ally thought her life was finally coming together. Having given up her education to support her fiancé, taking on a second job and a mortgage while he graduates, Ally can see an light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she walks in on him with another women, one month before their wedding.
With her life in tatters the last thing she wants to do is spend a weekend away with her boss from hell, but when he starts to show an interest in her can she resist?
I actually think this is my favourite of the series so far. I know I like the dark, brooding characters, the quiet yet deadly bad boy, and this is definitely Travis. He doesn’t take any crap from anyone but he needs someone to stand up to him once in a while and that is exactly what Ally does. Her self-esteem has been through the wringer, both her mother and her ex-fiancé bashing her confidence whenever possible. Travis brings her hope that she is not sure she can rely on. Can he really be the man for her after the way he treats her work (and the way she treats him)?
Loved the twist in this book. Did not see it coming and explains a lot about Travis’s behaviour throughout the previous books.
There are more in this series and also a spin-off series – The Sinclairs.
